Rocking Scarves

I used to wear a lot of scarves. A lot. But for some reason they have slipped out of my everyday wardrobe in the last year or so. Not really sure why this is since my appetite for beautiful scarves hasn't abated. I have a long-standing crush on Forget Me Not's giant (120cm x 120cm!)silk scarves, largely because I find Coco's illustrations exquisite, but sadly they are rather out of my price range. Reading Susie's latest scarf post though I realised that I need to rediscover my scarf collection (or 'shop my closet' as some recession-tastic magazines might so cringe-inducingly say) and start thinking about new ways of wearing them...

A name she mentions in passing her post that I hadn't heard of/had forgotten I had heard of was Trust Fun! They create amazing fractalised (real word?) scarfs that are beautifully styled on their website. The duo behind the label are Shane Sakkeus, who has designed prints for Josh Goot, and Jonathan Zawada, who has recently designed prints for Tina Kalivas. Unsurprising then that they could give good scarf! Their Islander Sacks also suggest a very plausible looking idea of something new to try with ones scarves. One to try, methinks...

They also have the most amazing 'Rockmen'. It is reassuring to know that Pet Rocks never go out of fashion. I was always very fond of mine even though he was rather less snazzy than theirs.

The Rockmen develop into Rockmen necklaces. I particularly like the way that the solder looks like chewing gum. These in turn reminded me of the Unearthen vial necklaces on Bona Drag. A slightly random connection but that is how my brain works - I clearly like matter on/in my jewellery.

Oh yeah, and did you notice the subtle rock/scarf connection in my blog title, delicately meshing this entry together with delicate integrity? Got to love a nice, juicy pun.

Chuck x
